The acid neutralizer. Its 1.5 cubic feet of calcite is the size Aidan puts on 1 to 2 people at pH 6.0 to 6.9. With 3 or more people, or a pH below 6.0, the neutralizer needs to be the 2.5 cubic foot size, so text Aidan your water test before ordering. The other stages have room to spare: the 2.5 cubic foot iron filter is rated for up to 30 ppm iron, 15 ppm manganese and 10 ppm hydrogen sulfide, and the 48,000 grain softener handles 1 or 2 people on water up to about 30 grains per gallon.

It depends on your water test. If you have iron, low pH, and hardness (the most common combination in well water), then yes. If you only have one or two of these problems, you might only need 2-3 stages. This package treats sediment, iron, low pH and hardness. It does not disinfect. If your water test shows coliform or E. coli bacteria, you need UV as well: add a UV system at the end of the line, or choose the 5-stage package with UV. A carbon filter is optional, for taste. You can upgrade one stage without replacing the rest. The neutralizer is the first stage to outgrow: 3 or more people need the 2.5 cubic foot size.
