This system uses air injection and Katalox-Light™ filtration media to remove iron, sulfur, and manganese without chemicals.

Air Injection

The Fleck 2510AIO valve creates and maintains a pocket of air at the top of the tank. As well water enters the system, it passes through this air chamber first.

Contaminants Oxidize

Contact with the air causes dissolved iron, sulfur (rotten egg odor), and manganese to oxidize. This converts them from dissolved minerals into solid particles that can be filtered out.

Katalox-Light Filtration

The oxidized particles are captured by 2.5 cubic feet of Katalox-Light™ media, leaving your water cleaner, clearer, and odor-free.

Self-cleaning system: The Vortech tank design lifts and circulates the media during the automatic backwash cycle, flushing trapped contaminants out of the system. This keeps the media clean and working efficiently without chemicals. Katalox-Light™ media typically lasts 6–10 years depending on water usage.
