System stages and what each one does

 

Stage 1 – Sediment Filtration

A 4" × 20" Big Blue sediment filter removes dirt, sand, and particulate matter from your well water. This protects all downstream equipment and helps extend the life of the entire system.

 

Stage 2 – Acid Neutralization (pH Correction)

The non-backwashing Clack Vortech acid neutralizer raises low pH water to a neutral level. It effectively treats water with pH as low as 5.5 using calcite media. If your pH is below 5.5, a calcite and FloMag blend can be used.

 

Stage 3 – Hardness Treatment

Backwashing Softener: A Fleck electronic demand water softener removes hardness, low levels of iron, and radium while preventing scale buildup throughout your plumbing.

Salt-Free Conditioner (non-backwashing): A Clack salt-free conditioner converts dissolved hardness into a non-scaling crystal form without salt, electricity, or a drain connection.

 

Stage 4 – Carbon Filtration

The carbon filter improves taste and odor while reducing chlorine (if present), organic compounds, and VOCs such as herbicides and pesticides. This stage polishes the water for everyday use.

 

Stage 5 – UV Water Sterilization (5-Stage system only)

The stainless-steel UV sterilizer neutralizes microorganisms such as coliform and fecal bacteria as water passes through the chamber. This provides an added layer of protection for microbiological safety.
