We recommend a sediment filter upstream of both systems if you have visible particles or sediment in your water. A 20" Big Blue sediment filter installed before the acid neutralizer traps particles that could get into the valve. That said, many of our customers run this package without a separate sediment filter and have no issues. It depends on your water quality.
