Needed for Installation

1

Remove Old Copper

Cut out any untreated copper plumbing from the well tank to where the unit will sit. Copper corrodes with acid water.

Tip Use CPVC from well tank to unit.
2

Prepare Threaded Adapters

You need to convert the unit's 1" threads to ¾" pipe. Use a 1" Female Adapter and glue a 1" x ¾" Bushing into it.

[IF:pipe_size=3/4 inch]

3

Prepare Well Tank Connection

Use a 1" [MATERIAL] Female Adapter. Wrap the threads with Teflon tape 6 to 8 times. Tighten by hand, then finish snug with channel locks.

[IF:pipe_size=1 inch]

Danger Do not overtighten or you will crack the fitting.
4

Prepare Well Tank Connection

Use a ¾" [MATERIAL] Male Adapter. Wrap the threads with Teflon tape 6 to 8 times. Tighten by hand, then finish snug with channel locks.

[IF:pipe_size=3/4 inch]

5

Position the Tank

Place the tank where you want it installed. It should sit about 1.5 to 2 inches away from the wall.

6

When using calcite and FloMag you will need a storage bin for mixing which is available at Walmart. Using a storage bin dump in 1 bag of calcite and the required amount of FloMag. Mix well then add to the tank. Remember to tape of center tube. Repeat this process until all bags of calcite are used. Store the remaining FloMag for future use.

4. Remove the tape when done.

[IF:media=Calcite]

8

Connect Inlet (Upflow)

Connect the pipe from your well tank to the upflow or riser inlet on the valve. Install the Shut-Off Ball Valve in this line.

9

Connect Outlet

Connect the downflow outlet side back to the main house line.

Tip Connecting to copper? Use a SharkBite fitting for an easy push-to-connect seal.
10

Pressurize System

1. Open ball valve ¼ turn to fill tank slowly. Listen for air escaping.
2. Hand tighten the head when water reaches top.
3. Use channel locks to turn ¼ to ½ turn more.

Danger Do not over-tighten; doing so could crack the tank, voiding the warranty.
11

Flush & Finish

Run water from an outside hose or tub for 10-15 minutes until the water runs clear. Once clear, you can run water to the rest of the house.

Success You have successfully installed the system.
