Electrical Requirements

Three systems need power: the iron filter, the water softener, and the UV sterilizer. You will need 3 available 120V outlets in your utility area. The acid neutralizer, carbon filter, and sediment filter are fully passive.

Drain Requirements

The iron filter and water softener need drain lines for backwash/regeneration. Route 1/2" tubing to a floor drain, utility sink, or outside (max 20 feet each). The 3.5 CF iron filter uses more backwash water than the standard 2.5 CF, so confirm your drain can handle 5-7 GPM during regeneration.

Space Planning

Plan for roughly 10-12 linear feet of wall space. The three 16" x 65" tanks (iron, AN, softener) are each about 16 inches in diameter and 5.5 feet tall. The carbon filter is standard size (13" x 54"). The UV sterilizer mounts horizontally on the wall. Confirm ceiling clearance for the 65" tall tanks (you need room to service the valve on top).

Sediment Filter Every 3-6 months

Replace the 5-micron cartridge when flow drops or it looks dirty. Unscrew the housing with the included wrench, swap the cartridge, and reinstall.

Iron / Sulfur AIO Filter (3.5 CF) Minimal

The Fleck 2510AIO backwashes automatically on a schedule you set during installation. Katalox-Light media lasts 7-10+ years under normal conditions. No media changes unless iron levels are extreme.

Acid Neutralizer (3.5 CF) Every 12-18 months

Add calcite through the fillport when the media level drops to about 2/3 full. The 3.5 CF tank holds more media so refills may stretch slightly longer than standard systems. Calcite is available in 50 lb bags.

Water Softener (80K) Monthly salt check

Keep the brine tank at least 1/4 full with salt. Larger homes typically go through a 40 lb bag every 3-6 weeks depending on hardness and usage. The Fleck 5600SXT regenerates automatically based on usage.

Carbon Filter Every 3-5 years

Non-backwashing carbon eventually exhausts. When taste or odor returns, replace the activated carbon media (pour out old, pour in new through the fillport).

UV Sterilizer Annual lamp swap

Replace the UV lamp once a year (the controller counts down lamp hours). Clean the quartz sleeve during replacement. Replacement lamps available here.
