Not sure if this is the right PFAS solution for your water? PFAS removal depends on your contamination level, pre-existing water quality (iron, manganese, sediment), and whether you need whole-house or point-of-use coverage. Send us your PFAS test results and Aidan will review them personally. He'll tell you whether the Pioneer cartridge system or our tank-based PFAS system is the better fit, and whether you need pre-filtration upstream.

Complete Pioneer PFAS Removal System

  • Enpress PIONEER cartridge tank (8" diameter x 40" tall) - 100% non-metallic construction that will not rust, rated to 125 PSI
  • ATOMUS PF8 PFAS cartridge (CT-5020-0640RD-PF8) - PFAS-selective adsorption media, NSF/ANSI 61 certified, removes 8 PFAS chemicals to non-detect (<1 ng/L)
  • Bypass manifold with 1" MNPT connectors - standard threaded fittings, no gluing required, isolate the system without shutting off your house
  • 3/8" PEX drain valve kit with shut-off - makes draining the tank for cartridge change-outs clean and simple
  • Snap-ring top cap with red pressure-relief button - no tools needed for cartridge replacement
  • Free shipping to all lower 48 states
Metered Tank upgrade: Choosing the Metered Tank configuration adds the LED metered umbrella cap (3 AAA batteries) that tracks the gallons you have used and gives a color-coded signal as the cartridge nears capacity. Because PFAS are invisible, tasteless, and odorless, the meter is the easiest way to know you are replacing the cartridge before breakthrough occurs. We recommend the metered configuration for all PFAS applications.
Recommended: Install a sediment pre-filter upstream to keep particulates off the PFAS cartridge. If your water has iron or manganese, those must be removed before this system. See the Installation tab for the correct treatment order.

No drain line. No electricity. No backwashing. Standard 1" NPT plumbing. The Pioneer installs inline on your main water line. The base configuration is fully passive. Only the optional Metered Tank upgrade uses 3 AAA batteries for its LED usage meter.
Pre-filtration matters for PFAS. Suspended solids, iron, and manganese must be removed upstream or they will foul the PFAS media and shorten its life. Install a sediment pre-filter at minimum. If your water has iron or manganese, those need their own dedicated removal system before this unit. Call us with your water test results and we will confirm the full treatment train.

Installation Steps

  1. Shut off the main water supply and relieve pressure at a nearby faucet
  2. Cut into the main water line after any sediment filter, iron filter, or softener and install the 1" MNPT connections (standard threaded fittings, no gluing)
  3. Attach the bypass manifold using the included 1" MNPT elbow or straight connectors
  4. Connect the 3/8" PEX drain valve kit so you can drain the tank for cartridge change-outs
  5. If you chose the Metered Tank, install 3 AAA batteries in the LED umbrella cap and set the meter to the cartridge capacity
  6. Open the bypass slowly, switch to service, and flush the new cartridge briefly before use

One cartridge, no backwashing, no regeneration chemicals. The ATOMUS PF8 media works by selective adsorption, so there is no regeneration cycle to manage. You simply replace the cartridge when it reaches capacity, then return the spent cartridge to the manufacturer for PFAS extraction and media recycling.

Maintenance Schedule

  • 100K-350K+ gal Replace the ATOMUS PF8 PFAS cartridge when it reaches capacity. Life depends on your PFAS concentration: at 3,000+ ppt expect 100,000+ gallons, at typical levels around 100 ppt expect 350,000+ gallons. The Metered Tank upgrade tracks gallons and signals when you are getting close.
  • Every 3-6 Months Replace the sediment pre-filter cartridge (if using one upstream) to keep particulates off the PFAS media and protect its capacity.
  • Annual Test your treated water for PFAS to confirm the system is performing and catch any early breakthrough. Replace the 3 AAA meter batteries (Metered Tank only).

Cartridge Replacement

The Pioneer uses a snap-ring top cap, so no tools are required. Press the red pressure-relief button, drain the tank through the PEX drain valve, pull the snap ring, lift off the cap, and swap the cartridge. The replacement is the ATOMUS PF8 (CT-5020-0640RD-PF8). Spent cartridges are returned to the manufacturer for PFAS extraction, destruction, and media reuse, which is a first-of-its-kind recycling program that prevents the captured PFAS from entering the waste stream. Contact us for replacement cartridge pricing and availability.

Important: PFAS have no color, taste, or smell, so cartridge breakthrough is invisible. Do not run the cartridge past its rated capacity. The Metered Tank upgrade exists for exactly this reason, and we recommend an annual PFAS test on the treated water regardless of which configuration you choose. A PFAS water test kit is the only way to verify performance.
Questions about when to replace? Call or text 800-460-5810. We can help you estimate cartridge life from your water test results and household usage.

Why Choose the Pioneer for Whole-House PFAS Removal?

PFAS-Selective Media That Removes Forever Chemicals to Non-Detect for Your Entire Home

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are man-made chemicals that do not break down in the environment or the human body. Often called "forever chemicals," they have been found in drinking water supplies across the country from both well water and municipal sources. The EPA has set enforceable maximum contaminant levels of 4 ppt for PFOA and PFOS, and there is no safe long-term exposure level. PFAS have no color, taste, or smell, so the only way to know they are present is a water test. The Pioneer PFAS Removal System uses ATOMUS PF8, a PFAS-selective adsorption media certified to NSF/ANSI 61 that removes 8 specific PFAS chemicals (PFOA, PFOS, PFHpA, PFNA, PFHxS, PFBS, GenX, and PFDA) to non-detect levels below 1 ng/L. Unlike standard granular activated carbon, the ATOMUS PF8 media has molecular selectivity for PFAS compounds specifically, giving it 25x greater adsorption capacity than GAC or ion exchange resins. Its performance is not affected by pH, TOC, or co-present inorganic ions. Built around the 8 by 40 Enpress PIONEER cartridge tank, the system is 100% non-metallic and treats your entire home at the point of entry. No backwashing, no drain, no electricity. The cartridge swaps with a snap ring and no tools. At typical residential PFAS levels (around 100 ppt), a single cartridge provides 350,000+ gallons of non-detect removal. Spent cartridges are returned to the manufacturer for PFAS extraction, destruction, and media reuse, preventing captured forever chemicals from reaching landfills.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ATOMUS PF8 cartridge removes 8 specific PFAS chemicals to non-detect levels (below 1 ng/L, which is less than 1 part per trillion): PFOA, PFOS, PFHpA, PFNA, PFHxS, PFBS, GenX, and PFDA. This includes both long-chain compounds (PFOA, PFOS) that the EPA has set at 4 ppt maximum contaminant levels and short-chain compounds that many other filters struggle with. The media has molecular selectivity for PFAS specifically, so its capacity is not wasted adsorbing non-PFAS compounds the way GAC is.

Standard granular activated carbon (GAC) does adsorb some PFAS, but it is non-selective, meaning it also adsorbs chlorine, organics, and other compounds that fill up its capacity before the PFAS is fully removed. The ATOMUS PF8 media has 25x greater adsorption capacity for PFAS compared to GAC or ion exchange resins, because it is engineered with molecular selectivity specifically for poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances. That means longer cartridge life and more reliable non-detect removal. It is also not affected by pH, TOC, or co-present inorganic ions, all of which reduce GAC effectiveness.

Both are whole-house PFAS solutions, they just use different technology. Our tank-based system uses ResinTech SIR-110-HP, a PFAS-selective ion exchange resin. This Pioneer system uses the ATOMUS PF8 sealed cartridge in an 8 by 40 cartridge tank. The cartridge approach means no media handling, no backwashing, and a simple snap-ring cartridge swap when capacity is reached. The spent cartridge also goes back to the manufacturer for PFAS destruction and media recycling, which is a unique environmental advantage. Send us your water test and we will tell you which fits your situation.

Cartridge life depends on your PFAS concentration and household water usage. At high PFAS levels (3,000+ ppt), the cartridge provides non-detect removal for 100,000+ gallons at 8 GPM. At more typical concentrations around 100 ppt, expected life is 350,000+ gallons. For a household using 80 to 150 gallons per day at typical PFAS levels, that can mean several years between cartridge changes. The Metered Tank upgrade tracks gallons used so you know exactly when replacement is due.

We recommend the Metered Tank for all PFAS applications. The Standard (Bypass Tank) configuration is fully passive and includes the bypass manifold and drain valve. The Metered Tank upgrade adds an LED metered umbrella cap that counts the gallons you have used and gives a color-coded warning as the cartridge nears capacity. Because PFAS have no taste, color, or smell, you cannot detect breakthrough on your own. The meter removes the guesswork and ensures you replace the cartridge before any PFAS passes through. We also recommend an annual PFAS test on the treated water.

Yes. PFAS contamination affects both municipal water supplies and private wells. The ATOMUS PF8 media's adsorption is not affected by the differences between city and well water chemistry (pH, hardness, TOC, chlorine presence). The only pre-treatment requirement is removing suspended solids, iron, and manganese upstream, which applies to both water sources. Send us your water test and we will confirm the full treatment setup.

Yes. The Pioneer uses standard 1" MNPT threaded connections with no gluing, and the bypass manifold comes ready to connect. You cut into your main line downstream of any sediment or iron filter, which is standard residential plumbing. The base configuration needs no drain and no power. Call or text Aidan at 800-460-5810 if you want to be walked through it.

Spent ATOMUS PF8 cartridges are returned to the manufacturer for PFAS extraction, destruction, and media reuse. This is a first-of-its-kind recycling program that prevents the captured PFAS from entering landfills or leaching back into groundwater. The PFAS compounds are destroyed, and the regenerated media is reused, which also reduces the environmental footprint compared to disposable cartridges or media that goes to a landfill.

Why the Pioneer Costs More Than Basic PFAS Filters

PFAS-Selective Whole-House Treatment vs Carbon or Point-of-Use Alternatives

What You Get With Budget PFAS Filters

Most budget PFAS filters use standard granular activated carbon (GAC), which is non-selective and wastes most of its capacity adsorbing chlorine, organics, and other compounds instead of PFAS. GAC cartridges for PFAS exhaust quickly (often in weeks to months), need frequent replacement, and many are never tested to prove they actually reach non-detect levels.

Undersink reverse osmosis handles PFAS well at a single faucet, but it does not protect your showers, laundry, or other taps. And pitcher filters marketed for PFAS often have no third-party certification proving their claims hold up over the rated cartridge life.

The Real Cost Comparison

GAC Cartridge or Pitcher Filter
$50-500
  • Lifespan: Fails in 3-4 years
  • Result: Frequent repairs, poor water quality, leaks
  • Support: None
One faucet, frequent replacement, often uncertified
Best Long-Term Value
Pioneer PFAS Removal System
$3,895
  • Lifespan: Lasts 15+ years
  • Result: Done right the first time, peace of mind
  • Support: Lifetime USA Support
Whole house, years of capacity, non-detect certified

At typical residential PFAS concentrations (around 100 ppt), a single cartridge lasts 350,000+ gallons, which is several years for most households. That works out to a very low daily cost for certified, whole-house PFAS protection across every tap, shower, and appliance in your home. GAC alternatives may cost less upfront but need replacement every few months and only treat one faucet, making their actual cost-per-gallon much higher.

What You Get With the Pioneer

The Pioneer uses ATOMUS PF8, a PFAS-selective adsorption media with 25x the PFAS capacity of GAC, certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water contact. It removes 8 specific PFAS chemicals to non-detect levels (below 1 ng/L), meeting and exceeding the new EPA Drinking Water Standards of 4 ppt for PFOA and PFOS. The media's molecular selectivity means its capacity is reserved for PFAS, not wasted on other compounds.

The 8 by 40 PIONEER cartridge tank is 100% non-metallic, treats your entire home at the point of entry, requires no backwashing or electricity, and the cartridge swaps with a snap ring and no tools. Spent cartridges are returned to the manufacturer for PFAS extraction, destruction, and media reuse instead of going to a landfill. You also get 7-day-a-week expert support from people with 29+ years of water treatment experience.

Your Family's Drinking Water Is Too Important to Gamble On

If this Pioneer PFAS Removal System fails to reduce PFAS levels in your water to non-detect within 30 days of installation, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it, whether that means troubleshooting your setup, reviewing your water chemistry and pre-filtration, replacing a component, or issuing a full refund. No shipping a heavy system back to a warehouse. No restocking fees. No runaround.

10,000+ Systems Installed
455+ Verified Reviews
29+ Success Rate

PFAS are invisible, tasteless, and odorless, which makes trusting your filtration system essential. That is why we back this system with a real guarantee, not a return policy designed to discourage returns. We have spent 29+ years helping homeowners solve water contamination problems, and we chose the Pioneer PF because it uses certified, PFAS-selective media with 25x the capacity of standard carbon and a spent-cartridge recycling program that prevents captured PFAS from reaching landfills.

The Industry "Return Policy" Trap +

Most online water treatment retailers offer a return policy that requires you to ship the entire system back at your expense. After paying for return freight, you often find a 15-25% restocking fee on top of it. It is designed to make returns impractical. For something as serious as PFAS in your family's water, you should not have to gamble on whether a filter actually works.

How Our Real Guarantee Works
1
It Doesn't Reduce the PFAS

If post-install testing shows PFAS haven't reached non-detect as the media is proven to achieve, that's on us.

2
You Call Us, We Fix It

We troubleshoot with you: water test results, pre-filtration, iron or manganese interference, flow rates. Most issues come down to upstream contaminants fouling the media and are resolved with a simple pre-filter adjustment.

Full Refund, No Hassle

If we cannot resolve the issue, you get a full refund. We handle the logistics. You do not ship anything back. That is the difference between a real guarantee and a return policy.

Aidan

PFAS are one of the contaminants I take most seriously because you cannot see, taste, or smell them and they do not break down on their own. The first thing I do is look at your full water test, because we need to make sure iron, manganese, and sediment are handled upstream so the PFAS cartridge can do its job. I recommend the Pioneer PF because it is PFAS-selective, it reaches non-detect, and the spent cartridge gets recycled instead of landfilled. Send me your test and I will tell you honestly whether this is the right fit.
