Whole-house certified arsenic removal - removes both Arsenic III & V, no backwashing, no drain, no electricity
Watch This Before BuyingMeet Aidan, your water treatment expert
Not sure if this is the right arsenic filter for your water?Arsenic removal depends on your whole water chemistry, especially iron, hardness, and pH, and arsenic has to be the last stage in the treatment train. Send us your water test results and Aidan will review them personally. He'll tell you whether the Pioneer cartridge system or our tank-based arsenic system is the better fit, and whether you need iron removal upstream first.

Metered Tank upgrade: Choosing the Metered Tank configuration adds the LED metered umbrella cap (3 AAA batteries) that tracks the gallons you have used and gives a color-coded signal as the cartridge nears its rated 125,000 gallon capacity. Because arsenic is invisible and breakthrough cannot be tasted or smelled, the meter is the easiest way to know you are replacing the cartridge on time.
Recommended: Install a 5 micron (or finer) sediment pre-filter upstream to keep particulates off the cartridge. If your water also has iron, that iron must be removed before this system. See the Installation tab for the correct treatment order.

No drain line. No electricity. No backwashing. Standard 1" NPT plumbing. The Pioneer installs inline on your main water line. The base configuration is fully passive. Only the optional Metered Tank upgrade uses 3 AAA batteries for its LED usage meter.
Treatment order matters for arsenic. Arsenic should be the last stage in your treatment train. If your water has iron, the iron must be removed first or it will foul the arsenic media. The recommended order is: sediment, then iron removal, then a softener if needed, then this arsenic filter. If your water test shows iron, call us before ordering so we can confirm the full system.
Installation Steps
Shut off the main water supply and relieve pressure at a nearby faucet
Cut into the main water line after any iron filter or softener and install the 1" MNPT connections (standard threaded fittings, no gluing)
Attach the bypass manifold using the included 1" MNPT elbow or straight connectors
Connect the 3/8" PEX drain valve kit so you can drain the tank for cartridge change-outs
If you chose the Metered Tank, install 3 AAA batteries in the LED umbrella cap and set the meter to the cartridge capacity
Open the bypass slowly, switch to service, and flush the new cartridge to drain for about 60 minutes at 7 GPM before use

One cartridge, no backwashing, no salt, no drain. The ATOMUS F11 media works by adsorption, so there is no regeneration cycle to manage. You simply replace the cartridge when it reaches its rated capacity.
Maintenance Schedule
~125,000 galReplace the ATOMUS F11 arsenic cartridge at its rated capacity. Actual life depends on your arsenic level and water usage. The Metered Tank upgrade tracks gallons and signals when you are getting close.
Every 3-6 MonthsReplace the sediment pre-filter cartridge (if using one upstream) to keep particulates off the arsenic media.
AnnualTest your treated water for arsenic to confirm the system is performing and to catch breakthrough early. Replace the 3 AAA meter batteries (Metered Tank only).
Cartridge Replacement
The Pioneer uses a snap-ring top cap, so no tools are required. Press the red pressure-relief button, drain the tank through the PEX drain valve, pull the snap ring, lift off the cap, and swap the cartridge. The replacement is the ATOMUS F11 (CT-5020-0640RD-F11). Because the spent media holds arsenic in a non-leachable bond, it passes USEPA TCLP and California WET tests and is landfillable where local regulations allow. Contact us for replacement cartridge pricing and availability.
Important: Arsenic has no color, taste, or smell, so cartridge breakthrough is invisible. Do not run the cartridge past its rated capacity. The Metered Tank upgrade exists for exactly this reason, and we recommend an annual arsenic test on the treated water regardless of which configuration you choose.
Questions about when to replace? Call or text 800-460-5810. We can help you estimate cartridge life from your water test results and household usage.

Complete Guide to Well Water Filtration Systems
Well Water Testing: The Complete Guide
Why Choose the Pioneer for Whole-House Arsenic Removal?
Certified Removal of Both Arsenic III and Arsenic V for Your Entire Home
Arsenic is a naturally occurring contaminant in many groundwater wells, and it has no color, taste, or smell, so the only way to know it is there is a water test. There is no safe amount of long-term arsenic exposure, and the EPA enforceable limit for drinking water is 10 ppb. It occurs in two forms, Arsenic III (arsenite) and Arsenic V (arsenate), and most arsenic filters only remove one of them.
The Pioneer Arsenic Removal System uses ATOMUS F11, a binary mixed-metal adsorption media that removes both Arsenic III and Arsenic V at the same time, with no pre-oxidation, no air-oxidation control valve, and no backwashing. The complete system is certified by WQA and IAPMO R&T and tested to NSF/ANSI 53 to reduce 0.050 mg/L of arsenic to below the 0.010 mg/L (10 ppb) limit for 125,000 gallons at 7 GPM. The media is also certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372.
Built around the 8 by 40 PIONEER cartridge tank, the system is 100% non-metallic and treats your entire home at the point of entry. The cartridge swaps with a snap ring and no tools, and the spent media holds arsenic in a non-leachable bond that passes the USEPA TCLP and California WET tests. Because arsenic must be the last stage in your treatment train, send us your water test first so we can confirm iron and pH are handled upstream.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The ATOMUS F11 media is a binary mixed-metal adsorption media engineered to remove both Arsenic III (arsenite) and Arsenic V (arsenate) at the same time. Many arsenic medias only capture Arsenic V and require you to chemically pre-oxidate the Arsenic III first. The Pioneer does not need any pre-oxidation, chlorine injection, or air-oxidation control valve. It is tested to NSF/ANSI 53 to reduce 0.050 mg/L of either form to below 0.010 mg/L, the EPA limit of 10 ppb.
Yes, if your water has iron. Iron will foul the arsenic media and shorten its life, so arsenic removal should be the last stage in your treatment train: sediment first, then iron removal, then a softener if needed, then this arsenic filter. If your water test shows iron, call or text Aidan at 800-460-5810 before ordering and we will confirm the full system you need. Skipping this step is the most common reason an arsenic filter underperforms.
Both are excellent whole-house options, they just use different technology. Our tank-based arsenic system uses an arsenic-selective ion-exchange resin. This Pioneer system uses a sealed ATOMUS F11 adsorption cartridge inside an 8 by 40 cartridge tank. The cartridge approach means no media handling, no backwashing, and a simple snap-ring cartridge swap when capacity is reached. If you are deciding between them, send us your water test and we will tell you which fits your water chemistry and budget. You can compare both on our arsenic filters collection page.
The ATOMUS F11 cartridge is certified for 125,000 gallons at 7 GPM while keeping arsenic below the EPA limit. Real-world life depends on your starting arsenic level and how much water your household uses. A typical household using 80 to 120 gallons per day will get several years from a cartridge. The Metered Tank upgrade tracks gallons used and signals as you approach capacity, which is especially useful because arsenic breakthrough is invisible.
The Standard (Bypass Tank) configuration is fully passive and includes the bypass manifold and drain valve. The Metered Tank upgrade adds an LED metered umbrella cap that counts the gallons you have used and gives a color-coded warning as the cartridge nears capacity. Because arsenic has no taste, color, or smell, you cannot detect breakthrough on your own. We recommend the Metered Tank for most homes so you replace the cartridge on time, and an annual arsenic test on the treated water either way.
The system operates between pH 5.5 and 9.5. Performance is best within that range. If your water is above pH 8, it may need adjustment for top performance, and very acidic water below 5.5 should be neutralized first. The ATOMUS F11 media is also more resistant to interference from silica, phosphate, and vanadium than many other arsenic medias. Send us your full water test and we will confirm it is a good fit before you buy.
Yes. The Pioneer uses standard 1" MNPT threaded connections with no gluing, and the bypass manifold comes ready to connect. You cut into your main line downstream of any iron filter or softener, which is standard residential plumbing. The base configuration needs no drain and no power. Plan a new-cartridge flush of about 60 minutes at 7 GPM before use. Call or text Aidan at 800-460-5810 if you want to be walked through it.
Yes. The ATOMUS F11 media binds arsenic in a stable, non-leachable form that has been evaluated against the USEPA TCLP and California WET tests, so it does not release the captured arsenic in landfill conditions. The cartridge is landfillable when disposed of in accordance with your local, state, and federal regulations.

Why the Pioneer Costs More Than Basic Arsenic Filters
Certified Whole-House Arsenic Removal vs Point-of-Use Alternatives
What You Get With Budget Arsenic Filters
Most budget arsenic filters are point-of-use units that only treat one faucet, or they use medias that capture Arsenic V but not Arsenic III. Removing only one form leaves the other in your water, and many wells contain both. To make those filters work on Arsenic III you have to add chlorine or air injection to pre-oxidate it first, which adds cost and complexity.
Plenty of arsenic cartridges are also uncertified, so there is no third-party verification that they actually bring arsenic below the EPA limit. And some spent arsenic medias can leach the captured arsenic back out in a landfill, creating a disposal problem.

Whole house, both As III & V, certified
A typical household uses 80 to 120 gallons per day. At 125,000 gallons of certified arsenic capacity, the cartridge lasts several years for most homes, which works out to a low daily cost for certified, whole-house arsenic protection. Cheaper point-of-use filters cost less upfront but only protect one faucet and may not be certified to remove both forms of arsenic.
What You Get With the Pioneer
The Pioneer uses ATOMUS F11, a binary mixed-metal adsorption media that removes both Arsenic III and Arsenic V at once with no pre-oxidation, no control valve, and no backwashing. The complete system is certified by WQA and IAPMO R&T and tested to NSF/ANSI 53, with the media certified to NSF/ANSI 61 and NSF/ANSI 372. It treats your whole house at the point of entry, not just one tap.
The 8 by 40 cartridge tank is 100% non-metallic, the cartridge swaps with a snap ring and no tools, and the spent media holds arsenic in a non-leachable bond that passes the USEPA TCLP and California WET tests. You also get 7-day-a-week expert support from people with 29+ years of water treatment experience.

29+Success Rate
Arsenic is a serious, invisible health risk with no taste, color, or smell. That is why we back this system with a real guarantee, not a return policy designed to discourage returns. We have spent 29+ years helping homeowners solve well water problems, and we chose the Pioneer because it is a certified, whole-house system that removes both forms of arsenic without pre-oxidation or backwashing.
The Industry "Return Policy" Trap
+
Most online water treatment retailers offer a return policy that requires you to ship the entire system back at your expense. After paying for return freight, you often find a 15-25% restocking fee on top of it. It is designed to make returns impractical. For something as serious as arsenic in your family's water, you should not have to gamble on whether a filter actually works.
How Our Real Guarantee Works
1
It Doesn't Reduce the Arsenic
If post-install testing shows arsenic hasn't been reduced as certified, that's on us.
2
You Call Us, We Fix It
We troubleshoot with you: water test results, treatment order, iron levels, pH, flow rates. Most issues come down to upstream iron or pH and are resolved with a simple adjustment.
Full Refund, No Hassle
If we cannot resolve the issue, you get a full refund. We handle the logistics. You do not ship anything back. That is the difference between a real guarantee and a return policy.
Arsenic is one of the contaminants I take most seriously because you cannot see, taste, or smell it. The first thing I do is look at your whole water test, because arsenic has to be the last stage after iron and hardness are handled. I recommend the Pioneer because it removes both forms of arsenic, it is certified, and it is simple to live with. Send me your test and I will tell you honestly whether this is the right fit.
