Not sure which arsenic system you need? I'm the guy in the videos. Arsenic treatment is sized from a lab number, not a guess, and the order matters: iron and pH have to be handled before the arsenic stage. Send me your well test and I'll tell you exactly which system fits, or that you don't need one yet.

ATOMUS F11 Media

TypeBinary mixed metal adsorption media, powder form
Arsenic Forms RemovedArsenic III (arsenite) AND Arsenic V (arsenate), simultaneously, no pre-oxidation
Also ReducesPhosphate, silica, chromium, lead, vanadium, other heavy metals
Contact TimeUnder 30 seconds (vs 3-5 minutes for granular media)
Operating pH Range5.5 - 9.5 (widest of any arsenic adsorption media)
Surface Area>250 m²/g
Interference ResistanceMore resistant to silica, phosphorus, and vanadium than other arsenic medias
Spent Media DisposalNon-leachable arsenic bond - passes USEPA TCLP and California WET tests, landfill safe
10-minute swap, no tools. The PIONEER tank is designed for homeowner cartridge changes - press the pressure-relief button, pull the snap ring, swap, flush.
Flush before use. After installing the new cartridge, flush the system for 10 minutes before using the water. This clears any fine media particles from the new cartridge.
  1. Put the tank in bypass and open the drain valve to relieve pressure (press the red pressure-relief button on the cap).
  2. Pull the snap ring and lift off the tank cap.
  3. Lift out the spent cartridge and let it drain into a bucket.
  4. Drop in the new ATOMUS F11 cartridge, seat it, and check the cap o-ring.
  5. Replace the cap and snap ring, close the drain, and return the bypass to service.
  6. Flush for 10 minutes before using the water. If you have the metered tank, reset the meter to the new cartridge capacity.
Disposal is easy: the captured arsenic is non-leachable (passes USEPA TCLP and California WET tests), so the spent cartridge can go in normal household trash in most jurisdictions. Check local rules or call us if unsure.
  • Metered tank Replace at the gallon target. The LED metered umbrella cap counts gallons used and signals as the cartridge nears its 125,000 gallon capacity. This is the most reliable method because arsenic breakthrough is invisible.
  • Bypass tank Replace on a usage schedule. At 200-300 gallons per day, 125,000 gallons works out to roughly 12-20 months. Higher water use means earlier replacement.
  • Annually Test treated water for arsenic regardless of which tank you have. A certified lab test is the only way to confirm the cartridge is still removing - and it catches unusual water chemistry that shortens cartridge life.
Don't stretch a spent cartridge. Arsenic has no taste, color, or smell - the water feels identical the day the cartridge exhausts. Set a calendar reminder when you install, and keep a spare cartridge on the shelf so the swap never waits on shipping.

The Only Cartridge That Belongs in Your Pioneer Tank

Powder-format media that captures both forms of arsenic in under 30 seconds of contact time.

ATOMUS F11 is a binary mixed metal adsorption media in powder form. Powder has dramatically more surface area than granular media, which lets it capture arsenic in under 30 seconds of contact time instead of the 3-5 minutes granular medias need. That rapid kinetics is the entire reason a non-backwashing cartridge arsenic filter can exist - and why the Pioneer system needs no drain, no electricity, and no control valve. It removes both Arsenic III (arsenite) and Arsenic V (arsenate) simultaneously, with no chemical pre-oxidation - something almost no other residential arsenic media can claim. The media is NSF/ANSI 61 certified, and as installed in the complete Pioneer system it's tested to NSF/ANSI 53, reducing 0.050 mg/L of arsenic below the EPA limit of 0.010 mg/L for 125,000 gallons at 7 GPM. It's also more resistant to interference from silica, phosphate, and vanadium than other arsenic medias, and it works across a wider pH window (5.5 to 9.5). When the cartridge is spent, the captured arsenic stays bonded - it passes the USEPA TCLP and California WET leach tests, so disposal is normal household trash in most areas. The swap takes 10 minutes with no tools: press the pressure-relief button, pull the snap ring, exchange the cartridge, flush. Keep a spare on the shelf and your home never goes a day without arsenic protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

This cartridge (CT-5020-0640RD-F11) fits any Enpress PIONEER 8" x 40" cartridge tank - including our Pioneer Arsenic Removal System in both the standard bypass and metered tank versions. It does not fit Big Blue housings or standard 4.5" x 20" filter housings. If you're not sure what you have, text a photo of your tank to 443-277-2204 and we'll confirm before you order.

It's rated for 125,000 gallons of arsenic reduction (reducing 0.050 mg/L below the EPA's 0.010 mg/L limit, tested to NSF/ANSI 53 in the complete system). At a typical household's 200-300 gallons per day, that's roughly 12-20 months. The metered tank version counts your actual gallons and signals when replacement is near; with the bypass version, set a calendar schedule from your usage and test treated water annually.

Yes. That's the defining feature of ATOMUS F11 media. Most arsenic medias (including ion exchange resins) only remove arsenate (As V) effectively, and arsenite (As III) must first be converted with chlorine or aeration. ATOMUS F11's binary mixed metal formulation captures both forms simultaneously, which is why the Pioneer system needs no oxidizer, no air-injection valve, and no chemical feed. If your water test shows arsenite, this is the simplest path to compliant water.

Yes. Put the tank in bypass, press the red pressure-relief button, pull the snap ring, lift the cap, exchange the cartridge, reassemble, and flush for 10 minutes. Most homeowners finish in about 10 minutes the first time and 5 minutes every time after. We'll walk you through your first swap on the phone if you'd like.

In most jurisdictions, normal household trash. The arsenic bond in ATOMUS F11 is non-leachable - it passes the USEPA TCLP and California WET tests, which are the standards for landfill-safe waste. Some states have stricter local rules, so check your municipality or call us and we'll help you verify.

Because the cartridge IS the treatment. The PIONEER tank is a pressure vessel you buy once; the engineered media inside the cartridge is what actually captures arsenic, and ATOMUS F11 media is expensive to manufacture (binary mixed metal formulation, powder processing, NSF certification). You're replacing the entire treatment bed every swap - the equivalent of a full media change-out on a tank system, but without the labor.

We recommend it. Arsenic breakthrough is invisible - no taste, color, or smell - so you don't want your protection gap to be 'however long shipping takes.' Keep one sealed spare on the shelf (it stores for years in a cool dry place), swap when the meter signals or your schedule says, and reorder the spare.

Why This Cartridge Costs What It Costs

The cartridge is the treatment - not an accessory

What you get with generic 'arsenic cartridges'

Generic arsenic cartridges for standard housings use small beds of granular media with a fraction of the capacity - often under 10,000 gallons - and most only address arsenate (As V). They're cheaper per cartridge but cost more per gallon treated, need replacement several times a year, and leave arsenite (As III) in your water entirely.

The Real Cost Comparison

Generic Housing Cartridge
$80 - $150 each
  • Lifespan: Fails in 3-4 years
  • Result: Frequent repairs, poor water quality, leaks
  • Support: None
Replace 3-6x per year, As V only
Best Long-Term Value
ATOMUS F11 Cartridge
$895
  • Lifespan: Lasts 15+ years
  • Result: Done right the first time, peace of mind
  • Support: Lifetime USA Support
Replace every 12-20 months, As III + V

Per gallon of arsenic-free water, the F11 cartridge is the cheaper option - and it's the only cartridge format that handles both arsenic forms without a pre-oxidation system that would add $1,000+ of upstream equipment and its own maintenance.

What you get with genuine ATOMUS F11

125,000 gallons of NSF/ANSI 53-tested arsenic reduction per cartridge - both As III and As V, with no pre-oxidation equipment. Non-leachable spent media that goes in normal trash. A 10-minute tool-free swap. And free 7-day-a-week support from real water treatment specialists who will walk you through every swap.

Solved my very high iron issues

"I had well water with over 20 ppm ferrous and 7 ppm of ferric iron, plus manganese and some sulfur. Local water companies rejected me, said they couldn't help. I purchased two Fleck 2.5 cu. ft. 2510AIO iron filter tanks with Katalox-Light. Problem solved."
