Pioneer Arsenic Replacement Cartridge (ATOMUS F11)
Not sure which arsenic system you need?
I'm the guy in the videos. Arsenic treatment is sized from a lab number, not a guess, and the order matters: iron and pH have to be handled before the arsenic stage. Send me your well test and I'll tell you exactly which system fits, or that you don't need one yet.

⚡
10-minute swap, no tools. The PIONEER tank is designed for homeowner cartridge changes - press the pressure-relief button, pull the snap ring, swap, flush.
Flush before use. After installing the new cartridge, flush the system for 10 minutes before using the water. This clears any fine media particles from the new cartridge.
- Put the tank in bypass and open the drain valve to relieve pressure (press the red pressure-relief button on the cap).
- Pull the snap ring and lift off the tank cap.
- Lift out the spent cartridge and let it drain into a bucket.
- Drop in the new ATOMUS F11 cartridge, seat it, and check the cap o-ring.
- Replace the cap and snap ring, close the drain, and return the bypass to service.
- Flush for 10 minutes before using the water. If you have the metered tank, reset the meter to the new cartridge capacity.
Disposal is easy: the captured arsenic is non-leachable (passes USEPA TCLP and California WET tests), so the spent cartridge can go in normal household trash in most jurisdictions. Check local rules or call us if unsure.
- Metered tank Replace at the gallon target. The LED metered umbrella cap counts gallons used and signals as the cartridge nears its 125,000 gallon capacity. This is the most reliable method because arsenic breakthrough is invisible.
- Bypass tank Replace on a usage schedule. At 200-300 gallons per day, 125,000 gallons works out to roughly 12-20 months. Higher water use means earlier replacement.
- Annually Test treated water for arsenic regardless of which tank you have. A certified lab test is the only way to confirm the cartridge is still removing - and it catches unusual water chemistry that shortens cartridge life.
Don't stretch a spent cartridge. Arsenic has no taste, color, or smell - the water feels identical the day the cartridge exhausts. Set a calendar reminder when you install, and keep a spare cartridge on the shelf so the swap never waits on shipping.
The Only Cartridge That Belongs in Your Pioneer Tank
Powder-format media that captures both forms of arsenic in under 30 seconds of contact time.
ATOMUS F11 is a binary mixed metal adsorption media in powder form. Powder has dramatically more surface area than granular media, which lets it capture arsenic in under 30 seconds of contact time instead of the 3-5 minutes granular medias need. That rapid kinetics is the entire reason a non-backwashing cartridge arsenic filter can exist - and why the Pioneer system needs no drain, no electricity, and no control valve.
It removes both Arsenic III (arsenite) and Arsenic V (arsenate) simultaneously, with no chemical pre-oxidation - something almost no other residential arsenic media can claim. The media is NSF/ANSI 61 certified, and as installed in the complete Pioneer system it's tested to NSF/ANSI 53, reducing 0.050 mg/L of arsenic below the EPA limit of 0.010 mg/L for 125,000 gallons at 7 GPM. It's also more resistant to interference from silica, phosphate, and vanadium than other arsenic medias, and it works across a wider pH window (5.5 to 9.5).
When the cartridge is spent, the captured arsenic stays bonded - it passes the USEPA TCLP and California WET leach tests, so disposal is normal household trash in most areas. The swap takes 10 minutes with no tools: press the pressure-relief button, pull the snap ring, exchange the cartridge, flush. Keep a spare on the shelf and your home never goes a day without arsenic protection.
